Building for Events
In addition to using the DVD, a large part of your success in TLC is directly related to using meetings and other events to build your business. Make it your goal to have at least one prospect at every event. That means promoting the event, days or even weeks in advance.
Promote the Event to Others
There are 3 groups of people you should promote every event to:
- Prospects (first exposure or as follow-up after DVD)
- Distributors in your group (for motivation, education, inspiration)
- Other Distributors (for additional energy and stories)
Whether it's a regular weekly TLC Briefing, a Limu Night, or a special event, it's vital that your prospects know they need to attend in order to get a bigger picture of our product and business and to become equipped to make the best decision. There is no better place to do that than at an event … the bigger the event, the bigger the picture.
Likewise, you must also promote the event to other Distributors. Whether they have a prospect or not, Distributors should attend every event for their own motivation and also in order to provide more energy and stories, which helps other Distributors who do have prospects. That's why we say, if you had a bad week, you need a meeting, if you had a good week, the meeting needs you!
How to Promote the Event
Promote the event using telephone, email, mail; hand out flyers or post them in businesses (restaurants, supermarkets, cleaners, community bulletin boards, etc.), and even ads in local newspapers and magazines. Some groups even promote a contest with prizes for those who bring the most guests.
Promote the Speaker
One of the most important ways to promote the event is by touting the credentials of the speaker. Whether the speaker is a TLC corporate executive, a top field leader, or another Distributor, it's critical that you build them up as high as you can and let the invitee know that this is a special opportunity to learn from someone who is worth listening to.
If it's a corporate executive, share their credentials (on the TLC website) and the fact that they will offer a lot of corporate insight ... If it's a top field leader, share their background (also on the TLC Website) and the type of success they are experiencing in the TLC business ... If it's a less successful Distributor, build them up using all the information you can gather about their previous profession and current achievements; Anyone can be a speaker at a meeting using the DVD and there are plenty of positive things you can say about them. In every situation, be positive and be excited; People hear your music more than your words!
Use these same principles if you are introducing the speaker during the event. No matter who it is, you should introduce them as if they were a superstar!
