I am Karyn Mansfield and this is my LIMU Experience.
I’ve been married to my best friend Pat for almost 30 years, and we have 3 wonderful boys – Josh, Chris and Ryan. We started our family very young, having our first two boys at 20 and 23. 13 years later we found ourselves excited to welcome baby #3, our miracle baby. Ryan, our youngest, was born with a little something extra, as he has Down Syndrome. I’ll say this, that little man has been the biggest blessing to our entire family. He has rocked our world and filled our lives with so much joy!
Along with all the joy and love all three of our boys have brought to our lives, there have been some big challenges. Starting off so young, we had many years where our finances were a hot mess. We struggled hard, but fortunately we had family to lean on and that situation changed over the years. But I was still finding myself awake many nights stressing, knowing that our situation could change again. I’m a home health care provider for my son and that program has been on the chopping block here in California and could go away at a moment’s notice. That could put us back in a financial situation I never want to be in again. At the end of the day, our income, as it was, still wasn’t enough to get us where we needed to be to set up our three boys for when we leave this Earth. We want to leave our older boys the gift of living out their days enjoying time together with Ryan, not financially burdened caring for their brother. Something had to change.
So began my journey with LIMU. Just about 6 months ago, my little sister Andrea invited me to her home to hear about LIMU. I’ve been watching her do her thing for 7 years and always cheered her on from the sidelines, but never took the time to take a look myself. I’m experienced in direct sales and have been for almost 30 years. I love the industry and what it can do for a family. I love that it has helped bring a little extra money into our home when times were tough. I’ve been with quite a few other companies in my day and have had some success. But, since having my son Ryan, my life has looked quite different. I assumed LIMU was just like all the other companies out there. Figured I’d be schlepping around a ton of stuff and having to sell a lot of products to anyone and everyone I could possibly get in front of, doing it again month after month after month. I just didn’t think I had that in me anymore.
Over the years I’ve watched Andrea become very successful, earn a few fancy BMWs, travel, party, and she seemed to be having a lot of fun. But I also assumed she must be selling A LOT of seaweed! I wasn’t interested, not even a little bit. So, when she called and asked me to “just come be a seat warmer,” I felt after all this time, I at least owed her that. I went, I listened, then I went home. But something happened. I loved what I heard, loved the excitement about what is happening in California. I didn’t realize how much I missed being a part of something bigger than myself.
I found myself lying awake that night, like so many nights before, but this time for a very different reason. I felt hopeful, excited and encouraged. I started thinking, could this be it? Could LIMU really be that different?
Maybe, just maybe, my hubby wouldn’t have to wake up at 5:00 am every morning for his 3-hour-a-day commute. Maybe if Ryan’s help from the state program was cut, it wouldn’t devastate our family. Maybe we could have that nest egg for our boys. So, I decided yes, I’m going to do this! What the heck did I have to lose? Nothing, but I had everything to gain!
The $500 was going to be an issue. My hubby and I have a deal, we talk about money before we spend it. I knew he wasn’t going to be thrilled. As a matter of fact, since he’s never been a fan of the industry at all, I knew when I went to him with this, he wasn’t going to see the same vision I did. So I sat on it. Fast forward about a week, hubby was on a business trip. Andrea called and, with a little bit of grit and maybe a smidge of elbow, came right out and asked if I was ready to get started. She explained that there was a cash promotion being offered. I was on the fence, but I love a good challenge and I hate leaving money on the table.
That was just what I needed to kick me off that fence; I said yes, I was ready. Knowing I only had a few days before hubby got home, I needed to get to work. Andrea had told me she would lock arms with me and we got to work that day, following the process using the amazing LIMU Share app, and even though I was a little scared, I got on the phone and began to share. The vision I saw and the hope I was feeling was so much bigger than the fear I felt. I knew I had to pass this on. It was the best feeling in the world when I reached out to my “heart people” and they said yes. They were looking for that hope too. This was fun! In a few short days, I was able to turn my $500 right back into my pocket and got a great promotion bonus on top of that.
It was absolutely my favorite thing to see the look on my hubby’s face when I told him that I’d started a new business, and not only earned back my purchase money, but doubled my money the very first week. He was a little mad, but for only about 15 seconds! He’s since become my biggest cheerleader, my best supporter, and my business partner.
Just 63 days after starting my journey with LIMU, working side by side with my sister, my hubby and my team, I earned my very own fancy little BMW.
I stay plugged in and get all the training I can. I’ve been to two regional events that were incredible and have given me not only the tools, but the drive to keep moving forward. I’m over the moon excited to be heading to my very first LIMU Convention which I know will propel me into my next chapter. I love working together to make a better life, not only for my family, but for the people I love. Even though my journey has just begun, I’m loving every step of the way and I’m so excited for what’s to come.
My name is Karyn Mansfield and I am LIMU!
