Central Baptist Youth Camp


In tough economic times, churches are often caught in a cash flow squeeze as families adjust their budgets and reduce their offerings. That makes church ministry much tougher to fund and accomplish. But the ongoing support of LIMU and the Raser family has helped Central Baptist in Daytona Beach to maintain its important role in the life of its congregation.


As Pastor Sonny Gallman recently said in a letter to The LIMU Company, “Words cannot describe the gratitude that Central Baptist Church has for the gifts you have made to us over the years. Your care for the people of our church, and for the people we seek to help through our ministry, has been priceless.”

Beyond gifts to the Church itself, the development of the Central Baptist Youth Camp has also been a focus of ongoing support. The Youth Camp will celebrate its 50th year in the Fall of 2011, and its history is well known to the Raser family, whose children attended the camp for many years.

The Camp has helped literally thousands of children to enjoy the natural wilderness while also learning about God in a life-changing and faith-building setting. This is a picture perfect Camp location complete with a chapel, cabins for campers and staff, dining hall, fishing dock, lake for canoeing, swimming pool, baseball field, covered shelter and campfire ring. And thanks to LIMU and the Raser family, much more comfortable than in its early years …

  • Our CEO Gary Raser has himself spent countless hours cooking in the Camp kitchens and grilling over the Camp barbecue pit, serving hundreds of campers through many hot Florida summers.
  • LIMU provided all of the funding needed to purchase new beds for the entire Camp, over 100 beds in all. Both campers and counselors continue to enjoy the plush new mattresses in all of the cabins, making for a more comfortable experience.
  • LIMU was also able to fund air conditioning for the Camp mess hall and its kitchens, changing what was an almost unbearable environment into a more pleasant and relaxing place to cook, share meals and enjoy activities.

Notably, it is LIMU’s support that has helped the Youth Camp expand its ministry beyond children of the congregation, as the Camp is also available to many different church groups and caring ministries. It is wonderful to see Central Baptist and its Youth Camp continue to thrive and expand, with the help of The LIMU Company!
