Where and how is Limu Original processed?

The unique limu used in Limu Original is harvested among the islands of the Kingdom of Tonga and is strictly licensed and protected by the Tongan government. The purest form of limu is collected and carefully cleaned in Tonga, then flash-frozen to preserve its freshness. It is then transported to New Zealand, where it is refined into a unique liquid extract in a government-inspected facility, using our proprietary extraction process. The extract is quality tested and transported to the United States, where it is blended with our proprietary formula into Limu Original and bottled for your use.

How does LIMU ensure the quality of Limu Original?

What is malic acid and why is it in Limu Original?

Malic acid, part of the alpha-hydroxy family of natural fruit acids, is what gives green apples and certain other fruits their tart flavor. Malic acid helps give Limu Original its delicious, refreshing taste.

Why are sodium benzoate and potassium sorbate in the product?

Sodium benzoate and potassium sorbate work synergistically to keep Limu Original free of harmful molds and microbes after bottling, and keep our chill-blended product from spoiling. These substances are present in quantities of less than one-tenth of 1% in compliance with food safety regulations. Sodium benzoate is the sodium salt of benzoic acid, an FDA-approved polyunsaturated fat that is freely found in nature, in foods such as cranberries. It has been used by food manufacturers for over 80 years to inhibit microbial growth. Potassium sorbate is a potassium salt version of sorbic acid, a polyunsaturated fat used to inhibit mold growth. It has been found to be non-toxic even when taken in large quantities and has been used in foods since the 1850s.

Does Limu Original contain grapefruit extract?

No. Limu Original does not contain grapefruit extract.

How much iodine is there in a serving of Limu Original?

Limu Original contains less than 30 micrograms (30/1000 of a milligram) of iodine per one-ounce serving. This is because, unlike iodine-rich brown seaweeds such as kelp, the unique Tongan limu moui contains only very small traces of iodine.

Can I still take Limu Original if I'm on medication?

Limu Original is simply a liquid food supplement and is enjoyed by thousands of people on medication. However, it is always prudent for people who are on medication to consult their doctor before starting any nutritional or exercise program.

What if my Limu Original freezes during shipping?

No harm done! Simply let it thaw out and drink as usual.

Is it normal to be constipated with this plan?

It's happened for some. Sleepiness may happen due to a decrease in calories or because the nutrients are different from what your body is used to. The Appetite Controller will give you a real boost when you need one.

Is it important to have less/more calories than the daily recommended amount?

It is very important to keep within the calorie range recommended. Do not skip shakes or meals as your body needs the nutrients. As a reminder, women should consume approximately 1200 cal/day, while men should consume approximately 1600 cal/day.

Why is it important to keep track of my weight and waist measurements weekly?

Many people experience "plateaus," a normal phase in the weight loss process. Measuring and weighing yourself at the beginning of every week will help you stick to the program and see what results you're making.

How do I combat plateaus?

Evaluate what you're eating. What is your protein intake? What is your sodium intake? Can you increase your exercise? All of these things will help get you off any plateaus. Remember that being on a plateau is just your body's way of reassessing. This is a good thing!

Is it natural for the Digestive Health Cleanse to settle on the bottom of my glass?

Yes. The mix making up the cleanse is rich in fiber, which means it will settle some if you let it sit a while. Stir it up so you're not left with a lot of it at the end!

Why is it important to use the Digestive Health Cleanse?

How many carbohydrates are in each shake?

Is the Appetite Controller better to take hot or cold and should I sweeten it?

Your body must heat the Appetite Controller up, so it's best if you drink it hot. There are already some great natural sweeteners in the Appetite Controller, so adding more isn't necessary.

I think I lost weight in my feet—is that even possible?

Yes. Body fat is a type of "inflammation" that increases as we gain weight. When we lose weight, that inflammation goes away everywhere (even your feet!).

What is the best time of day to drink the Appetite Controller?

You know your body best and you know what time of day your cravings are likely to hit. Use it for those times. Some people even like to split up a single portion over the course of a day. Keep in mind the Appetite Controller will give you a boost, so be wary of making it your late night beverage.

What can I add to my Meal Replacement Shakes?

Our Shake can be enjoyed without adding anything. You may add chopped almonds, fruit or ice for a thicker Shake, but don't forget to count the extra calories. You may want to mix your Shake in a blender rather than the blender bottle provided if you are adding extra ingredients.

If I use twice as much powder in my Shake, or if I drink more than two Shakes per day, will I lose weight twice as fast?

Our Meal Replacement Shake should be used only two times a day at most in order to maintain optimal nutrition in combination with sensible meals and a greater level of exercise or activity. Using more of the product will not help you lose weight more quickly. The system was designed as a specific plan; please follow the included instructions as you participate.

Can I use the Meal Replacement Shake in combination with weight loss pills?

We do not recommend using any other weight loss products while you are using the LIMU LEAN products.

Can women who are pregnant or nursing drink the Meal Replacement Shake?

We do not recommend women who are pregnant or nursing use our Shake and to consult their physician prior to beginning any weight loss program.

Can children use our Meal Replacement Shake?

Yes. The ingredients in our meal replacement shake are nutritious and healthy and designed for usage by both children and adults.

Can you give me some guidelines to follow for my sensible meal?

Here are some suggestions to help you make the healthiest food choices possible:

Fruits and vegetables add fiber, water and vitamins to your meals with relatively few calories. Eat at least five servings of fruit and vegetables per day.
Choose whole-grain foods more often: wheat or multi-grain breads, brown rice, whole-wheat pastas and high fiber whole grain cereals.
Drink 6-8 glasses of water daily. Water is essential to your body and an important element of your weight loss plan.
Get enough protein in your diet, especially from lean meats, skinless poultry, fish, eggs and beans.
Limit your added salt, sugar and alcohol intake. Sodium should be limited as part of a healthy weight loss plan and sugary foods and alcohol contain calories with no nutritional value.
If you already take vitamin supplements, continue taking them.

What are the recommended servings of the products in the system?
